3 Random facts about me
I had Plastic Surgery in Colombia. I don’t regret it and I’ll probably do it again.
My ancestry is a mixture but majority Portuguese. My great-parents came to the Caribbean from Madeira, Portugal.
I lived in a living room in San Francisco when I moved out there for my first job at a startup. It was all I could afford.
I’m a 26-year old Caribbean blogger, content creator, and professional marketer from the twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago.
I’ve been a fashion-obsessed, makeup addicted, travel hungry dreamer for as long as I can remember. Now, I’m putting those passions to action through my content. Throughout my platforms, you’ll see a reflection of my personal style, stories, passions, and aspirations.
Welcome to the journey!
THE NITTY GRITTY
Growing up on an island in the Caribbean, I have this small-town, island life soul with a city-like, global ambition.
If you speak to any of my close friends who knew me when I was growing up, they’ll tell you that my answer to the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” changed at least every 6 months.
Singer, Actress, Fashion Designer, Lawyer, Politician, Doctor, Journalist, Businesswoman, Aid Worker, Anthropologist…
These were all the careers, identities, and people that I thought I wanted to be. What I’ve come to realize is that I don’t want to be any of these things in isolation.
I don’t want to choose between them… I want to be all of them.
I’ve straddled this interesting line between logic and creativity for most of my life, which I felt for the most part were separate entities.
- Highly ambitious and type A, but insightful and introspective
- Meticulous to a fault when it comes to planning, but a seeker of spontaneity
- A total nerd and over-achiever, but extroverted and into all things makeup, fashion, and beauty
The reality is that these two separate and seemingly warring personalities are like the oceans and tides as they rise and fall. They are my greatest advantage because they balance each other out.
This blog is the opportunity to be everyone and anyone of those people above at any given time to some extent.
It’s an opportunity to do what I’m good at and share information and thoughts that previously only my friends and family had access to — whether it’s advice about an outfit to wear to an event, where to visit in Spain, how I relax, what makeup to wear with that dress, or what to do when you lose a family member.
This blog is meant to be a window into my mind and soul — an expression of the many, many, many thoughts that run through my logical and creative minds.
It’s a place to share the things that I’ve been holding onto too tightly and afraid to put out into the world.
It’s an expression of my passionate love for fashion, beauty and travel and a chance to share my personal style that melds my Caribbean roots with my global experiences.
It’s a place to find inspiration and recommendations.
But most of all, it’s a place to connect
